My haircare favourites – masks and treatments

I’ve been taking better care of my hair since chopping it three years ago. This week, I’ll be sharing some products I’ve enjoyed enough to repurchase.

Even though I’m trying to grow my hair to the hipbone (insane, I know!) I still blow-dry, heat style, and do colour treatments. It’s super important for me to use hair masks and leave-ins. I’ve tried a lot over the years!

Shiseido Fino

This has been my favourite hair mask lately. It’s great for detangling and a little really goes a long way. My hair always feels silky and smooth afterwards. It also smells very “high end”, if that makes sense.

Pantene Pro V Rescue Shots

You’ll feel an improvement in texture right away! Be careful if you have naturally straight hair like me. Using too much will make you hair feel too flat and thin. For my length, I’d recommend using just half a mini-tube.

Garnier 1 Minute Hair Mask

I tried this out when it was on sale and it turned out to be a great drugstore find! If you see this on sale, grab it. I used the banana and papaya ones, but they all smell lovely. It’s not a very thick mask, which is good if you don’t like the feeling of glopping product on.

Saryna Key Damage Repair

My favourite high-end mask. This 500 ml tub will last you forever! You can use this in the shower, but I prefer leaving it in my hair for 15-30 minutes before I shower. It smells heavenly too! Since it’s not silicone-heavy, it’s not the best for detangling. But it is packed with ingredients that will strengthen your hair.

Moroccan Oil Treatment

Onwards to leave-in products…this is my most re-purchased, holy grail product that I can’t live without! It’s on my list of life essentials along with coffee and junk food. This is the one product in my hair routine that I refuse to ever replace with a dupe.

This works on many hair types. If your hair is very dry, you can load it on without making it greasy. If your hair is fine, using it sparingly won’t weight it down.

Redken Split End Sealer

Nothing other than a haircut will fix split ends. So prevention is key if you’re trying to grow your hair out. This product is quite thick, so a little goes a long way. I only apply it on the very ends. I like that it works on damp and dry hair.

AG Repair Serum

This is on my list of products to repurchase. It’s another split end preventing treatment that worked very well for me. Although it’s a small bottle, it lasted me months! I used two pumps before blow drying my hair, which was every other day. Bonus points for the airless pump! It’s fairly thick, but it spreads out very nicely.

I tried other strengthening leave-ins, but this one always comes back to mind.

What are some of your holy grails for hair? I’m always looking to try new products!

Hugs and kisses,

~ Jin
